Welcome to the website of East Kent Acro, Kent's longest established acrobatic gymnastics club.

The club were formed in 1985 and are based in Tides Leisure Centre, Victoria Park, Park Avenue, Deal, Kent. 

The club offer recreational (fun) gymnastic sessions for children age 5 to 16 of all abilities (see "Abut us") as well as competitive acrobatic gymnastics and tumbling up to National level.

MORE MEDAL SUCCESS AT SWIFTS INVITATIONAL

Six pairs and a trio travelled to Sittingbourne on Sunday and brought back eight medals: four gold, two silver and two bronze.  One pair were 4th and the others both achieved 7th place in their classes.

 AWARDS

We have introduced annual awards (Michelle's idea and she did all the work collating the nominations etc).  These were presented at the Christmas party and below is a list of those handed out:

General "thank you"'s went to the main coaches, Becki, Christina,  Michelle, Claire & Liz as well as Anita and Jacqui for their admin work.

Michelle was given a special award for her "extra" work such as newsletters and keeping people informed with global emails as well as the fact that she regularly drives home at weekends from Uni to coach.

Leaguers presented a special award to James for stepping back into leaguers to help Joe on top of his squad training

Leaguer of the year was Coralie Powell.

The following awards were based on votes by coaches and gymnasts:

Gymnasts' Gymnast of the Year: Ilona Shepherdson

Coaches' Gymnast of the Year: Rachael Stone

Gymnasts' Coach of the Year: Becki Carty

Coaches' Coach of the Year: Emma-Louise Poole

Richard Shepherdson "Star of the Year" Award went to Billy-Joe Poole.

 

 

 

 

 

FANTASTIC RESULTS

Three competitions in five weeks - exhausting but very successful!

Spelthorne Invitational - 6 medals: 4 gold, 2 bronze

Regional Tumbling Championships -9 medals: 2 gold, 4 silver, 3 bronze 

Regional Acro Championships - 10 medals: 6 gold, 4 silver

Well done to everyone who competed - you did us proud.


 

TitleWell done Becki and all the display team - every display so far has been brilliant and we've had very good feedback (and more bookings!).  The next display is scheduled for the Miner's day at Fowlmead on August Bank Holiday Monday (31st).
